garbage and r kelly songs

Long live the new r kelly songs waste. And ‘spring in London and waste in the city, pulling off the old skin to see what is growing underneath. Herethe evidence for the tour and press blitz before the fall of the quartet’s fourth album “Bleed Like Me,” the differences between thisand the last time we met, more than three years, are acute.

In January 02, about four months, the campaign “beautifulgarbage”, there was a certain air of uncertainty in waste. The third albumhas earned its fair share of criticism, but an engine has been slow in every bar area in Australia, where it went platinum. Although astep forward for r kelly songs the band in terms of sound experimentation and songwriting, “BG” is not the commercial impact of both the band’seponymous debut match and “Version 2.0”, which moved about seven million between them.

Why? I want to now, the theories were cut by a monster single of singer Shirley Manson cut my hair bleached to a bright red. Some expect the hardcore band fans do not get the references Magpie album of pop-historical figures like Spector and Big Star and NoelCoward and Prince. Others have suggested it was lil wayne songs an unfortunate case of the sentence always torn by the same time. Wrappedreleased shortly before the 9 / 11, the lead-off single “Androgyny”, a hymn to the pansexual playfulness of sugar-spun hooks, but wasrejected by a public panic, the ears called for  r kelly songs the compaction of the arias of the disturbing U2 or Coldplay. The musicians themselves felt ridiculous to talk of a new record in these nervous times.

New Shirley Interview

This interview appeared in the Times here in the UK and has been reproduced on their website. The interview talks about Shirleys forthcoming solo project and working with Paul Buchanan of Blue Nile (writing). Thanks to Ilona from our garbage forumfor bringing this to our attention.

Not So Stupid Girl

Turning 40 holds no fear for Shirley Manson. The outspoken rock star talks to Kenny Farquharson about band breaks, babies and beating the blues

Shirley Manson is having a pants crisis. When she flew in to Scotland from Los Angeles, the airline managed to mislay her suitcase. So Manson has been searching her Edinburgh home, taking dust sheets off furniture and rummaging in drawers, looking for clean knickers. “I have had a bit of an underwear moment this morning,” she confesses.

She puts on the kettle, an old-fashioned one that she heats on a black range stove in a homely kitchen. The house is part of an anonymous sandstone terrace, perched high above the seashore on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Tall windows look out onto an expanse of blue sky and wind-whipped sea in the Firth of Forth.

Although it is early on a Monday morning and she has spent much of the past 24 hours travelling, Manson looks fantastic in a black high-necked jumper, black jeans and black knee-length boots. Dyed burgundy hair is pulled back hard into a pony tail, away from her famously pale skin, which is almost translucent. Her only make-up is some heavy black mascara and a lick of lippy. Stick thin, she is all angles and edges.

The kettle boiled, she offers a bespoke cup of tea — a mixture of Scottish breakfast and earl grey, both decaffeinated. “It’s my own special combination,” she says. “You can have the Postman Pat mug.” Continue reading ‘New Shirley Interview’

Garbage – Push It

interview with garbage

In 1994, three music producers formed Garbage: Butch Vig (drums), Duke Erikson (guitar/bass) and Steve Marker (guitar/bass). After recruiting vocalist Shirley Manson from Angel Fish, the band soon found its trademark sound and the world soon became as smitten with Shirley as the trio was. Far from being overly impressed by everyone’s infatuation with her, Shirley just keeps on being herself. The band’s new CD, Beautifulgarbage, reveals another page in Garbage’s successful career.

NYROCK:

Tell me about the thought process behind creating Beautifulgarbage.

SHIRLEY:

We were trying to create a very organic album, nothing constructed. We built a stage in Madison and started to play without any preparation and this is basically the result. The guys started jamming and I started singing and that’s how most of the songs were born. Quite strange because the guys are definitely perfectionists, especially Butch…

BUTCH:

Technically speaking, it’s not a perfect album. Some of the songs do have definite flaws but we left them there because we didn’t want to start fumbling around forever. We didn’t want it to sound too smooth. Some of the vocal parts are even first-take recordings. We couldn’t even imagine anything like that with our previous albums.

NYROCK:

Yes, it seems to be stripped down to the bare essentials…. Continue reading ‘interview with garbage’

Garbage – Cherry Lips

garbage

Garbage is a Scottish-American band formed in 1994 at Madison, Wisconsin, USA. The group members are Shirley Manson (vocals, guitars), Steve Marker (guitars, keyboards), Duke Erikson (guitars, keyboards, bass), and Butch Vig (drums, percussion). Erikson, Marker and Vig are also producers and remixers (Vig is best known for producing Nevermind by Nirvana). To date, the band sold over 17 million albums worldwide.

Initially, Garbage was an informal jam session between the three producers held in Marker’s basement. Steve Marker saw the music video of “Suffocate Me” by Angelfish on MTV, recorded it and showcased it to his band mates. They invited the Scottish vocalist Shirley Manson to join Garbage, she accepted, and soon Angelfish disbanded. According to Vig, Garbage was named before Manson joined the band, after the percussionist Pauli Ryan walked in while Vig was working on a remix for Nine Inch Nails and said it sounded like “garbage”.

In August 1995, the group released their debut album Garbage, preceded by their first single “Vow” in March 1995. This album was an unexpected smash, selling over 5 million copies and reaching double platinum status in the UK (#6), USA (#20), Australia. Also it received great reviews from critics and featured on the book “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.” They released five singles from this album: “Vow” (#138 UK, #97 US), “Only Happy When It Rains” (#29 UK, #55 US), “Queer” (#13 UK, #57 US Hot 100 Airplay chart), “Stupid Girl” (#4 UK, #24 US), and “Milk” (#10 UK, #44 AUS). A non-album single entitled “Subhuman” was released on 7 August 1995 and peaked at #50 in the UK. Continue reading ‘garbage’
